Identifying organisational needs (TAETAS501 Undertake organisational training needs analysis – TAE50116 Diploma of VET)

May 17, 2017 By Academy Staff 3 Comments

The following blog relates to a unit out of the TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development.

Training needs analysis is a process of clarifying organisational needs, analysing whether the current workforce is capable of meeting these needs and identifying gaps which can be filled by providing training.

Strategic Objectives

The organisation should have a strategic or business plan that will outline its strategic objectives. These are often stated as a vision, mission and values.

When you study your organisation’s vision and mission statement, this will give you valuable information about senior management commitment and focus. If the organisation has a clear vision, this provides the groundwork for developing an argument for workforce development and training.
