Question 1: How is the TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training different to the Diploma of Training and Assessment?
The TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training is not equivalent to the Diploma of Training and Assessment (TAA50104) and has no direct relationship with it. The Diploma of VET was designed as a development pathway for experienced VET practitioners. Although it retains some of the units from the Diploma of Training and Assessment (TAA50104) most of the units are either new or substantially rewritten to reflect the intent of the qualification which is focused at the experienced practitioner.
The following units
- TAEASS501A Provide advanced assessment practice
- TAEDEL502A Provide advanced facilitation practice
- TAEPDD501A Maintain and enhance professional practice
are designed to underpin a "practicum". Industry at large identified the critical need for this provision in the Diploma of VET to ensure that the integrity of teaching practice is demonstrated and to provide the recognition required for experienced practitioners.
