RPL

How can Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) work for you? Do you already have teaching or management skills? Get the Credit You Deserve with Recognition of Prior Learning.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) means that the skills and knowledge you already have through informal or formal learning may count towards a nationally recognised qualification. Gaining a qualification through an RPL pathway should be an engaging experience for the applicant. Being treated like a professional whose existing qualifications and skills are given consideration is key to fostering a flexible, personalised and supportive relationship between the applicant and the assessor. The RPL process should be methodical, clear and precise in explaining the requirements for gathering evidence and efficient in terms of providing assistance and progressive feedback for a fast turn around time in achieving the desired qualification.

All too often there are reports of RPL processes where applicants are asked to supply information which is irrelevant and not aligned to critical aspects of evidence, required skills and knowledge or performance critieria. If the RPL process is unstructured and complicated there can be unnecessary duplication of evidence. Applicants may often feel that their prior qualifications and skills are not even given consideration and the evidence they are required to supply is not related to workplace experience.

The International Teacher Training Academy (ITTA), collectively, has many years of experience as teachers in Vocational Education and Training in TAFE, the private training sector as well as industry experience in Management roles. This will ensure that the guidance and support you receive throughout your RPL assessment pathway together with the specially designed RPL tools, will be an uncomplicated and valuable process.

By utilising the process of recognition of prior learning you can upgrade to the new TAE10 Training Package for currency in Training and Assessment qualifications.
