Rules of Evidence
The rules of evidence define quality evidence.
The rules state that evidence is quality if it is:
- Valid – it relates to the competency standard assessed
- Sufficient – it addresses all competency requirements
- Current – it proves that the candidate is competent (now)
- Authentic – the evidence can be verified as being the candidate’s own work.
What does this mean for you the candidate?
To ensure you are successful in your application for RPL you should look at all the essential criteria (skills and knowledge) listed in the unit you are applying for. This will be provided on tools that have been specifically designed by ITTA.
Consider the evidence you could provide that addresses the competency required and use the rules of evidence to determine if the evidence is quality evidence (or in other words sufficient).
