TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment - FAQs

Question 1: Is it necessary to complete TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment if I already have obtained a teaching degree at a level higher than the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?
To be entitled to work as a teacher in the VET sector you must obtain the minimum qualification of the Cert IV Training and Assessment.
If applicants require Cert IV in Training and Assessment for a career in the Vocational sector, applicants can apply for recognition of prior learning for previous studies/qualifications and experience.
Applicants can complete Cert IV Training and Assessment Online with the International Teacher Training Academy. Teachers at the Academy will assess the applicant’s prior experience and qualifications and give direction on the study required to complete the Cert IV in Training and Assessment.
Question 2: Does the BSZ qualification equate to the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or would I have to upgrade?
The BSZ does not equate to Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment, however other superseded qualifications may be considered for recognition/equivalence for Cert 4 Training and Assessment.
The BSZ together with experience and professional development plus additional gap training will be required to obtain the current Certificate 4 in Training and Assessment. The International Teacher Training Academy has specialised Cert 4 Training and Assessment RPL tools designed to simplify the task of collecting evidence required to obtain this qualification.
Question 3:What are the main career opportunities after completing the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment?
On completion of the Certificate IV Training a participant would have developed the skills and knowledge to competently fill the role of a trainer and assessor within the Vocational Education and Training sector (VET).
Note: In addition to the TAE40110 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, a potential teacher would also be expected to have the necessary relevant VET industry qualification and experience.
Question 4: How long would it take to complete the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment Online?
The International Teacher Training Academy (ITTA) delivers Training and Assessment Courses Online and the expected time for a participant to complete the course (if they are currently working) is 6 months allowing for a minimum of 8 to 10 hours study per week.
