TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development - FAQs

Question 1: How is TAE50211 Diploma of Training Design and Development different to the TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training?

TAE50211 Diploma of Training, Design and Development is intended as a development pathway for those engaged in training development and instructional design and not necessarily engaged in delivery and assessment practice.  Even though the Diploma of Training Design and Development is based on the same pool of units as the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, it is the specific core units of the course that determine and reflect the vocational outcomes of the qualification.

Question 2: Is it possible to gain a dual qualification from the Diploma of TAE for both the Diploma of Training, Design and Development and the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training?

ITTA has written the Diploma TAE products, the Diploma of Training, Design and Development and the Diploma of Vocational Education and Training, specifically to enable students to obtain both qualifications simultaneously. We have carefully selected the elective units that are available in order to make this possible.

Question 3: Are there any equivalences from the Training and Assessment Diploma into the TAE Diploma of Training, Design and Development?

There are two units that you can receive equivalence for from the Diploma Training and Assessment to the Diploma of Training Design and Development. These are:

• TAADES501B Design and Develop Learning Strategies is equivalent to:TAEDES501A Design and Develp Learning Strategies
• TAADES502A Design and Develop Learning Resources is equivalent to:TAEDES502B Design and Develop Learning Resources

Question 4: Has the Diploma in Training and Assessment (TAA50104) been superceded?

The Diploma of Training and Assessment (TAA50104) has been superceded. ITTA offers the two new Diploma Training and Assessment qualifications which are TAE50111 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training and TAE50211 Diploma in Training Design and Development.
