To be eligible for a FEE-FREE PLACE in TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training you must meet the following criteria:

  • Live or work in NSW
  • Be an Australian Citizen, New Zealand Citizen or Permanent Australian Resident

Qualification Description

This qualification reflects the roles of experienced individuals in a variety of vocational education and training (VET) sector job roles, including:

Advanced training and assessment job roles where individuals are responsible for delivering training and assessment services in the VET sector, including promoting innovative practices and leading other VET teachers, trainers and assessors.

Job roles include:

  • Experienced, advanced or senior VET teacher, trainer and assessor
  • Head or lead VET teacher, trainer and assessor

Design and development job roles where individuals are responsible for designing and developing training and assessment strategies usually for registered training organisations (RTOs), including analysing training needs and designing training solutions and products to meet industry standards and compliance requirements.

Job roles include:

  • Education design team member
  • eLearning consultant
  • Experienced, advanced or senior VET teacher, trainer and assessor
  • Head or lead VET teacher, trainer and assessor
  • Instructional designer, learning designer, course designer or learning management system (LMS) designer

Entry Requirements

Must demonstrate current VET skills and knowledge relevant to the specialisation chosen in this qualification.  You must have the TAE40116 or TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment as a pre-requisite to enrolling.  You also need to be in a role where you are mentoring and supporting other trainers and assessors.

No, it has been deemed not equivalent. Units of competency have changed. Specialisations have been introduced. The design and development requirements are now integrated as a specialisation in the TAE50122 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training.

Can I credit transfer my units from TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training to the TAE50122 Diploma of Education and Training?

The units that have been deemed equivalent are:

28/8/23  I just received my TAE40122 Certificate in the mail for my TAE22! Love the silver embossing! I completed my Upgrade via RPL, for all units except equivalents. The RPL process with ITTA was clear, fair, and feedback was timely. Candidate guides were crystal clear and the process from start to finish was a positive experience!
