NSW Fee-Free Training
Drawing on the success of Job Trainer, the NSW and Australian Governments have signed a Skills Agreement to deliver Fee Free vocational education places in NSW. Under this agreement, the Commonwealth will provide $164 million for VET delivery and support. There will be 120,000 fee free places delivered in NSW in 2023 for priority qualifications.
The fee-free training under the NSW Fee Free initiative is available to anyone who:
- lives or works in NSW
- are aged 15 years or older
- have left school
- are an Australian citizen, permanent resident, humanitarian visa holder or New Zealand citizen
Note: Aboriginal students and students with a disability, fee-free scholarship students and refugees and asylum seekers) are eligible to access fee-free training for qualifications under Smart and Skilled.
Courses offered under the NSW Fee Free Training
TAE50116 Diploma of Vocational Education and Training
This qualification reflects the roles of experienced practitioners delivering training and assessment services usually within Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) within the vocational education and training (VET) sector.
TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
This qualification reflects the roles of entry-level vocational education and training (VET) teachers, trainers and assessors who are delivering training services to vocational learners and assessment services to candidates.
TAE50216 Diploma of Training Design and Development
This qualification reflects the roles of training developers and instructional designers who are responsible for analysing training needs and designing training solutions and products to meet workplace capability requirements, and evaluating the effectiveness of training programs.
