A manager's most important, and most difficult job is to manage people – others and self. You must lead, mentor, motivate, inspire, encourage, discipline and evaluate employees. As a manager you have the authority to sanction or restrict most aspects of the working day of your employees. This places you in a position of power and responsibility.
Developing your management skills
Managing people is not simple or easy, however, it can be done successfully and can be a very rewarding experience. Remember that management, like any other skill, is something that you can improve with reflection, study and practice.
