  • Becomming involved with the team you manage and allowing time for relationsships to develop. It is easy to focus only on work tasks and not shedule time to catch up regularly with each group member. And when doing so practise mindful listening.

The biggest tip I could give is to respect and be honest with your team. Managers can’t always tell their staff everything, but if your honest and up front about it your staff are more understanding. Ofcourse this is followed by communicating efficiently. Talk and listen to your staff and try and understand the situation from their perspective.

Taking the time to communicate with and listen to your team is vital in building positive relationships in a work team. It is also important to treat every team member with respect and not play favourites.

Absolutely Ben, it is essential for a leader to communicate well and as you have said to be fair with every member of their team.
